Hi, my name is Denise Fuehrer Burnette, and I am the founder of CreateNC.org. I have a passion for creativity, both in expressing my own and in helping others to express theirs. I believe we are all creative, that we all have something unique we are meant to bring into this world. If you have something that you would like to create, whether it is an event, a new business, a non-profit organization, or anything else you can dream up, I would like to help you bring your vision to fruition. I am available to work as a consultant, an event planner, or in a variety of other administrative functions to help facilitate your work and create your vision. I will be happy to meet with you, either in person or virtually, to discuss your plans and see what role I might have in helping you to make it happen.

Experience:

I have been the founder, manager, and owner of several small businesses. In all of these, I have managed the set up, taxes, financials, website, marketing, payroll, and many other aspects of owning and managing a small business.

I have been the Executive Director of three non-profit arts organizations, one being my own, the others being the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council, and the Caswell Council for the Arts. In all of these roles, I have gained valuable experience in how to execute events, manage budgets, raise funds, and work effectively with a team. I have organized countless art shows, music performances and festivals, artist markets, and much more.

In partnership with my husband, Rich Burnette, I organize the NC Disc Jam, a three day event which includes disc golf, live music, local arts, and camping. This event will be happening for the 5th time in Spring of 2025.

Also in partnership with my husband, I organize disc golf tournaments and events for our disc golf course, High Meadow Farm, in Prospect Hill, NC.

I have self published two of my own books through Amazon, a poetry book titled “The Fire Beneath Your Feet,” and a children’s book titled “The Day the Sun Went Out in Grown-Upsville” in partnership with illustrator Ann Adams.

I have created websites for all of our businesses, as well as a database in Microsoft Access for my own Consignment Store. I am not a database expert or a professional web designer, but if you are looking for a simple website for a new business or event, or a database to help you to organize some aspect of your work, I may be able to meet your web or database needs at a more affordable price than someone with more extensive skills and experience in this area.
